Many, including me have used straws from your local Fast Food place. MickeyD's has large fat
very light straws. Others have found larger at other places. They work great, are very light, and are
the right price.

Subject: REFLECTOR: Main Gear Brake Heat Sheild

What is the best way to add some protection to the main gear legs to prevent overheating from the brake disks after heavy usage? My plane has nothing, no shield, no wrap, and no AL tape. I've read about the problems that overheating the gear leg can cause and I don't want to have to go there.

Also, I had to replace the nylaflow brake line to my left brake. Before I glass it in like it was before, I thought I'd ask the group about other options. I understand some have used braided steel line instead, for the whole or part of the gear line. The book talks about the possibility of glassing in a larger line so the nylaflow can be replaced. If that is a good way to go - what size/type of line has been used. My local Lowe's has line that will work but is very thick and would make quite a bulge on my left gear leg.

  Thanks
