REFLECTOR: Overhead panel

How do most people mount their overhead panel? A flush butt joint with the
top of the A-pillar? Or do you put it on top of the A-pillar and then use
filler to fair it in?

 

I'm not sure if I'll have enough surface area for switches if I go with a
flush fit. How much vertical space do you need for switches anyway?
