REFLECTOR: Fixed gear - Nose Gear Gusset

Dennis,  

 

Thanks for sharing your experience with the crack in the nose gear
cross-bar.  I am building an XLFG -5 and so your comments are relevant to
me. I am very early in the building game but  would like to purchase the
substitute shock absorber.   Do you know the exact part number from Advanced
Antivibration Components?

Just wondering if any fixed gear pilots have had a problem with the cross
bar at the top of the gear strut. I talked with Scott Swing yesterday - he
has observed only one example with the cross bar showing a "crack." Since
I've already got my strut removed to add the new rubber shock absorber, I'll
probably go ahead and add the gussets. If anyone wants to see a photo, Jorge
Bujanda has the mod on his web site.
