 Landing distance also increases with higher density altitude - while the 
air speed indicator still might say "80" the true air speed (no wind ground 
speed) is greater.  The brake distance needed to stop a 100mph vehicle is 
more than 2x the same vehicle going 50mph, meaning stopping distance is not 
a linear function of ground speed.  The distance may not be so much that 
they affect the practical aspects of this thread.
