Matt-
You need to be careful that you do not remove more than you should- the top
and bottom surfaces should fair together properly (form a triangle in cross
section) if you remove too much, you will need to round the bottom surface
to bring the two lines together- I believe that mine was about ¾ or so
it
is determined by the geometry of the airfoil not the amount of bond area
that exists

I built my own wings as well. I trimmed the back to 1/2" of double thickness
(behind the foam).
I did it with a handheld (open) hacksaw blade holder. Worked fine, but you
have to "snap" off the cutting edge with a pair of pliers about every 6" of
cut or so. That Triax is incredibly abrasive!. Going slow by hand you can
cut each wing in about 20 minutes, and get a nice straight line.

Subject: REFLECTOR: Wing TE question
As I ready the wing for filling, I have a question on the size of the
trailing edge glass to glass joint. Both my wing and winglet TEs are 7/8
inch from the where the foam ends to the TE. Is this about right? Or
should that be less? It seams to be a large gap to fill.
