REFLECTOR: Fresh air vent

I have a FG with the overhead vent system with 4 outlets 2 for the back & 2 for the front feed by a small NACA scoop on the top rear of the fuselage and they provide plenty of air at cruise.  I also have the 2 panel mounted outlets.

The majority of the air out flow is via the spar area and the lower wing bolt holes.  I assume you have the reverse scoop covers on the bolt holes and they are aligned with the airflow for maximum suction.

Don -

I recommend having a couple extra vents on the panel fed from a NACA near the canard.

In my air-leaky RG the overhead plenum provides all the air I would need, but it's concentrated. Having an extra vent for each front seater coming out of the panel allows you to fine tune your comfort.

If I turn the front plenum vents full open I get so much air movement by my face that it activates the intercom constantly. My passengers don't need the extra drama of listening to my irregular breathing. Imagine having Darth Vader as a flight instructor.

I wonder if the tighter cabin of a fixed gear would mean the plenum would allow in less air, making extra vents even more helpful.

I’m debating on whether or not to add an additional NACA duct up front for panel mount fresh air vents.  I’m just not sure if the overhead plenum vents will provide enough air on hot days.
