Kurt--I replaced the fuel filters at last annual, they had about 150
hours on them. I cut them open and rolled out the paper. They were
perfectly clean..Tom
Tom,
I think you are referring to my post. Sounds like my setup is much like yours. The only reason I plan on removing the glass filters to the sump is that I am not comfortable with their design for the inside of my Velocity. It is possible for them to loosen a bit and leak fuel (although that has not happened yet), something I do not want.
I have a 10 Micron filter after the sump. Before first flight, I plan on removing the glass filters and replacing with? fresh hose. That will eliminate 4 extra connections in the system, as well as making me "feel better".
I would be interested on hearing if anyone has cleanable filters before the sump and how much "gunk" they get out of them once there has been several hours of run time.
Kurt
