REFLECTOR: Engine failure causes

I had considered DIY EFI system, which is the open source collaborative
effort of a cool group of guys on the internet.
I eventually chose not to go with that system because my installation
was already complicated, and I did not want to have to engineer that as
well.

I settled on the Autronic for various reasons. It controls ignition and
injection, allows for logging a lot of variables, and also allows per
cylinder tuning. To accomodate the weakness (if you want to call it
that) of electrical dependency, I also installed a magneto, and a backup
fuel injection system. This backup system took well over two years to
get it to a place I felt comfortable.

Someone asked if the backup system was flowing fuel. Not a chance. I
disconnected the backup EFI system for the first flight. I already have
two battery systems, and either one would have lasted just fine for
powering the injectors.

I have yet to pull the data logs off the Autronic. I still have more
inspection to do. When I can, I will test the Autronic for proper function.
