REFLECTOR: Engine failure causes

I apparently had too much gas and totally plugged the vent system with gas.


 

In my opinion, this can only happen if the vent line configuration is such
that the gas has to get moved 'uphill' in order to drain back to the tank.
In the stock configuration this should not be possible.  And the 'uphill'
has to be more that the difference in the level between the two tanks -
which is the driving head to bring the fuel in the line back into the tank.

Could there also have been the debris involved; or maybe cap not sealed
completely?
