Al,
I notice that both Sky-Geek and Aircraft Tool Supply refer to these tools as "swager", which is a non word. The correct word is simply swage. "swager" is a miss-spelling of swagger, as in strut your stuff.

Looks like I get to buy another tool. Can anybody recommend a nicropress tool that is suitable for our application (gear retract cables, rudder, etc)?

You can get the economy version; e.g., http://www.skygeek.com/ats-2.htm
Or the more professional version; e.g., http://www.skygeek.com/ats-64cgmp.html
I've used them both, the professional version is faster and more consistent, but the for less accessible places the economy version is good. Perhaps you can borrow on from the local EAA Chapter.
