Hi guys

I just joined your list...My name is Vance Atkinson and I've built two 
EZ types.  A VEZ N3LV and a COZY N43CZ.  I am an EAA tech and flt 
advisor and  for some spending money I fly for NETJETS as a captain 
doing maintenance test flying.  I have about 26,000 hours and. a whole 
bunch of type ratings.

I know Danny and the group fairly well and have flown two Velos.  They 
are a nice ride.....nicer than mine. 

Some of you may know that I make the fuel sight gauges for the EZ 
types.  I started with a set for my Cozy and it just developed from 
there.  My fuel gauge web site is

let me know at nostromo56 at tx.rr.com    I'm not pushing anything here, 
just letting the community know, as there have been some problems with 
the oil companies putting additives in the fuel without anyone knowing 
it, and affecting some of these gauges.  Now we have gasohol in  almost 
all the auto gas and thats not good.  I have had to add the warning to 
the gauges that says;  USE AUTO FUEL AT YOUR OWN RISK.  It has come to 
this because for about 20 years not one complaint about auto fuel 
affecting the gauges.  In the last two years Ive had reports of a dozen 
problems that were not problems in years past!

Personally I stick with  Av fuel because I know what I'm getting.  Your 
mileage may vary.

My Cozy is 22 years old with 1800 hours on it, a 160hp LYC and weighs 
1080lbs empty. Its had two dead stick landings, one my fault and the 
other, Lycomings, both were successful landings at an airport with no 
damage.

Right now the plane is getting a new upgrade in the form of a new panel 
with new radios.  I started last Oct with the ripping out the panel and 
am still working on it.this is the largest mod I have tackled of all the 
mods Ive done and there are at least 40 of them over the years.  I hope 
to have it done in time for OSH...... looks close.

I hope to see you at OSH as I do come around to the Velo tent to steal 
your top secrets.
