Jim,

I have a standard Elite with a Franklin engine. When I first started flying, I had marginal oil cooling. I installed two VG's about 4" ahead of my oil cooler inlet. I made them out of 3/4" aluminum angle, 1" in length. They are angled nose in about 10 deg. and spaced 1.5" apart. This lowered my oil temperature 20 deg.

Can anyone tell me how far ahead of the oil cooler scoop to place the vgs to increase flow, also I want to put some ahead of my cabin ventilator on the bottom of the pan as I'm not getting much flow out of the vents in the back seat.
  Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  \Thanks
  Jim
