Thanks
Scott Swing informed me that I need to remove the elbow fitting at the end
of the cylinder to be able to remove the end plug. I'll try that tonight.

John-
You need to push the piston down into the cylinder to get some clearance,
then feel the inside of the snap ring groove to see if there are any
protrusions- if you force the piston out through any burr, it will damage
the piston- it should slide right out, might catch when the o-ring goes into
the snap ring groove, but not too much- I noticed that the snap ring grooves
are not that well machined on these cylinders, there is almost certainly a
burr there- you can hone it down and then slide the piston out.

Yes the washer and seal behind the snap came out with a good tug, but that's
all I could get it to do.

Jon...

The pump puts out over 1500lbs. per sq. in. and that's a lot more then your
compressor.... Did the washer and seal come out after the snap ring...?

Best... Steve

some firm quick yanks and it didn't budge. The seals were leaking and
causing the pump to cycle.
