I asked about this a few months back. That width for C was never
really changed when the bellhorn went inboard in the wing. In the
video they made a cave for the bellhorn and glassed over it. The plans
no longer call for that cave. The glass for the cave is useless for
strength since the glass isn't in tension so it's nothing but weight,
by the time it could load in tension the winglet has long since broken
off.
I checked with the factory and they agreed with my analysis that the
glass over that cavity contributes no strength. Use the widest glass
you can forward of the bellhorn cavity. As a result this caused me to
narrow most of the layup a little bit so that you get a taper of the
edges.
