REFLECTOR: window installation adhesive

I have the OLD plans that called for that too. I put the windows in from the inside, and bonded them in place with silicone. Then captured the window with BID on the inside and outside. Makes a very nice transition on the outside.

The plans call for epoxy and milled glass to bond the windows to the fuselage. 
Wouldn't structural adhesive and milled glass be smoother and stronger?
