REFLECTOR: Aileron torque tube bearing

Was the failure on the starboard or the port?  If the starboard, any chance
it is being influenced by heat from the exhaust?

It was on the port side (generally know as the "Pilot" side in an aircraft
:-).  The bearing on the CP side is shielded from direct radiation from the
exhaust; and the air temp in the cowl is typically 140-150F.

I had done an annual about 6 - 8 flight hours prior, and had not noted any
undue play in the bearing at that time.
