REFLECTOR: Transponder

Try another ATC sector.  I have had problems in my 172 with ATC telling me
(and  others to recycle the transponder).  My transponder always worked
properly during the 24 month IFR Static system and transponder check.  The
transponder system isn't real dependable. For more info do a google search
on ATC Transponder problems or reliability.

You might also try reseatting your antenna connectors at both ends of the
cable.  If you don' have the antenna in the nose and have a long coax run,
you might have the cable replaced with 142 or 400 coax (see the
installation manual -  don't have mine anymore).
