Andy, you won't be able to get matched temperatures - and it really doesn't
matter. You are looking at peak EGT for leaning and fuel injector balancing.
However, if you can install all 6 EGT's at the same distance from the intake
flange on the head, the temps will be closer. I would suggest about 4" down
from the head, but you'll have to examine your own installation. I had
angle valve heads, you have the parallel valves so the exhaust arrangement
may be a bit different.
I mounted mine toward the inside to put them in a more protected location.

tell me where you put the EGT probes on the exhaust? Which way did you
have the probes pointing? (in, out, forward, aft???)
