Props Inc. is NOT the way to go! I saw the parts that were left after one
blade came off a Props Inc ground adjustable Propeller. It was on a Velocity
being spun by a Jabiru 8 cylinder 180HP. After inspecting the hub, there is no
way I would ever fly with that design!!! End result was On airport Off
runway landing but Alive.
The vibrations that the Prop needs to absorb is incredible on a Velocity.
The power strokes of the engine and turbulence from the airframe are a
constant stress on the whole assembly. No one should be flying with a propeller
that has not been through the whole gamut of a Vibration survey. I was present
for the Vibration survey done by MT on a velocity powered by a Delta Hawk. It
was quite a test and it passed with flying colors. Make sure the Prop
company has these results before flying any combination of Prop and Engine on a
Velocity. A lot of time on similar airplanes feels a whole lot better at 10,000
ft. with your family next to you!!
