REFLECTOR: clearance question

Is there any prefered clearance between moving airframe parts and rigid
ones?  For example, what should be the perfect distance between the
elevators and the fuselage, or between the elevators and the canard tips?
I'm assuming that priming will take a bit of room, too, so one should allows
a bit of a larger clearance initially?  So far I tried to maintain 1/4'',
which looks OK by eye, but I was not able to find any precise numbers in the
manual.
