REFLECTOR: Cabin speaker

The 2 x 3 1/2" speaker had good sound quality- it has a small magnet and is
rated at 3 watts, but I pushed it pretty far beyond that with my home stereo
with no damage- volume level is goof and it weighs only 1.9 oz. The 2"
round unit has a much more substantial magnet and weighs in at 3.1 oz it has
approximately 25% more volume at the same power setting, but the sound
fidelity is a bit less, and it sounds little tinny- probably because it is
designed to be a high midrange speaker in a multi-cone box- still acceptable
though and the higher pitch might be more clear to some folks- anyway, if
anyone wants to give them a try, just let me know.

I'll give them a listen tonight and report back- I end up at Tanners about
twice a month, so I can get some of them for anyone that needs them......

That's sure a lot cheaper than AS.

I just bought a couple of small full range speakers from my local
electronics surplus house- "Tanner Electronics" they are here in Dallas- I
have a 2" dia one that I paid $0.99 and a larger 2.25 x 4 one that I paid
$1.75 for- they will both fit up inside the overhead duct, I will test them
both for sound quality before making a decision.

Is anyone installing a cabin speaker? If so what part number did you
install? AS has a 4X6 oval that only needs 1.5 inch depth to install. This
should fit my overhead air plenum on my XL.
