REFLECTOR: Altimeter v. Airspeed

Technical question. If the static system is vented to the cabin and at
cruise the altimeter reads correctly, is that indirect evidence the
indicated airspeed will also be correct? In other words, if the altimeter
is correct, it indicates the cabin pressure, at cruise is near neutral--no
positive or negative pressure, hence the altimeter is reads correctly. Yes?

Probably; but not necessarily. Airspeed being determined by the difference
between dynamic and static, errors can be introduced by the placement of the
pitot tube. I've questioned the precision of the standard placement of the
pitot on the side of the fuselage under the canard, but it's likely close
enough.

Let's see - I guess the thing to do is to fly a timed distance in each of
the cardinal directions and compare the average KIAS and the averaged gps
ground speed.
