Ron,
Exactly what model of sensor was that? What material is the fuel-contacting
surface made of?

Got to love Auto fuel ! As you can see from the picture
just being in the sump for 1 -2 years can cause some real
Issues . I do not think it even was touched by the fuel in that time . I
would just put in enough fuel to do short runs of the engine
to test things out. Guess that is why it is called Experimental.
Has any one else used this as a sump sensor. If so you might want to check
it.
