Kurt,
Velocity has used several different styles of fuel caps over the years. Send us a photo (with a ruler beside the cap), or better yet - send us the cap. We will match it up to the rings that support locking caps to see if there is a cap that matches your rings.

Scott,
I too would be interested in switching my old plastic style caps for metal (locking preferred). If there is any logic or table you folks have that says which cap can be swapped to what ring, it would be nice to post it somewhere (like here :) I know for sure that I do not want to have to change the ring until I have to!
Thanks. Kurt

Maybe 'Yes' and 'No' ... it depends upon the style of fuel cap that you have. Through the ages we have seen some locking caps that require their own ring. Today we have gas cap products with rings that support either locking or non-locking caps; and caps made with either plastic or metal housings.
Call Velocity for more details - Ken Baker would be the best person to speak with.

I have yet to install the fuel cap "rings" into the top of the strake. To use a "locking" type
fuel caps do I need to use different rings, or do I use the ones sent with the kit?
