Subject: REFLECTOR: N36LV Flies !!!

Hi All,

It's official...36 Lost Vacations is now a real airplane. It was
inspected and certificated last Thursday and John Abraham flew it for
the first time Sunday. He pronounced it very airworthy, and went on to
fly it for the first 5 hrs.

After break-in, at 21.5" and 2500 rpms, he was truing 225 kts at 3900
ft. That's about 68-70% power and 18 gph.

22.5" and 2500 rpms was 234 kts true on 20 gph.

These fuel flows are still VERY rich so as to be kind to my engine for
awhile.

My VSI is programmed for 3000 fpm and John had it pegged for a timed
minute at 90 kts indicated.

His only complaint was how to get it to slow down...guess I'll have to
look into those PreciseFlight speed brakes.

The specifics are: XL-5 RG, 1871 lbs empty weight, 80 gals fuel
capacity, Performance Engines IO-550 EXP with tuned 6-into-2 exhaust
headers, 390-400 HP, and a MT 3-blade prop.

I'll give more performance specs as I get through the next 34 hrs of
flight testing.
