Thx Chuck, I sent Ken an email to order one. In interim I dug through
the builders plans and was able to get leg fairing off for repair and to
check the bumper/shock. Looks like my problem was where I was measuring
pivotal nosewheel tightness. I was listening to all of the local RV guys
and measuring pull force at the axle. The Velo plans say to measure
further out on the arm at the back of the tire. I had 16lbs pull at the
axle but only 10lbs at the tire. Had flown about 150 hrs like this with
no problem until I put a lot more air in my front tire. Was using 20lbs
but upped it to 35. Even at that I had made about 10 landings with no
problems until a 90 degree 15 knot crosswind. Greased the mains on and
held the nosewheel off till it slowed, wind must have weathercocked the
nosewheel fairing and it was not pretty when it touched down. I pulled
back hard and then planted it again and it straightened out. Got away
with some very minor glass damage on the fairings. Lucky..Tom
