REFLECTOR: Oil cooler NACA duct

My NACA duct is nowhere near the master cylinders. It is on the bottom of the fuselage and starts about 8 inches aft of the nose.

The duct has a bump to clear the brake master cylinders. If you have toe brakes, then you don't need the bump anymore. On the other hand, it
probably doesn't make much difference - the air velocity in the duct isn't that high.

I am trying to improve my oil cooling a bit and was looking over the
front NACA duct/oil cooler. Just inside the aft end of the duct on the
floor of the fuselage is a "bump" that is about 3/8-1/2" tall and
extends across the width of the duct. To me, it doesn't seem like it
should be there. It appears that it would impair the smooth flow of air
but maybe it is designed that way on purpose. Does anyone know if this
is correct?
