If a threaded Forum is still capable of continuing e-mail distribution
of all posts, then there should be no issue. Those that prefer it the
way it is would notice no change and others could enjoy the forum (no?).


I, for 1, prefer the e-mail initially, but I do like the Forum set up
for reference (and general perusal).
