Fuel Sight Gauges caption in the Engine / Propeller Section (12) of the manual states so
and actually instructs the builder not to use Tygon due to its tendency to become brittle.

Just FYI for those using the conventional sight gauges. Found out from 
Velocity factory today that it's not Tygon that they use but a 
Polyurethane Tubing that they purchase from Aircraft Spruce. (3/8" 
ID--1/2"OD)
