REFLECTOR: Questions b4 I cut the winglet

---I have preped both wings for the glassing of the winglets.
I am now confused over several measurements.

My winglet trailing glass to glass edge is trimmed at 7/8 inch. This
currently matches my wing glass to glass trailing edge width, and gives me
the wing measurement of 133 7/8 inch from the TE wing tip to the outboard
wing mount bolt hole CL. (page 2-25)

Winglet basic measurement as per fig 12-17, page 2-21, shows the top at 12
inches and the bottom is 28 inches, Measured how? Across the very top and
bottom, or on the curve of the cambered side, leading edge to trailing edge?

If I measure across the very top, 12 inches from the leading edge put the 12
inch mark at about 3/8 inch past the foam, onto the glass to glass. If I
measure over the cambered side, 12 inches is way short, into the foam.

On the bottom, If I measure 28 inches across the bottom, the 28 inch mark is
1 inch past the trailing edge. If I measure across the cambered surface,
LE back 28 inches puts me right on the trailing edge.
If I follow paragraph 4 on page 2-23, I will measure 12 and 28 inches, draw
a line to connect the 2, then cut/sand to that line.

The winglet is already marked for the cut lines, and are accurate as the
winglet is now. However, upon re-measuring to confirm the overall dimention,
they are not what the book says it needs to be, before measuring for the
markings.

Or.... am I just thinking way too much?

Matt
