Barry,

I was just staring at that sub-project today.  The traditional solution is a
"reverse NACA", in which the cut flap of cowl skin is bent in to form a
"ramp" for the exiting air.  The ones I have seen didn't have anything
sticking out beyond the original cowl surface.

I'm exiting my engine compartment oil cooler air thru the bottom cowl.
Do I need to make a scoop for the exiting air on the bottom cowl to flow
out or just a hole for it to exit thru?
