REFLECTOR: Toe Brake question

Hello Jack,
The left rudder pedal on the copilot side may warp with heavy application. This happened with our training aircraft. We added a doubler to the outside tube as the fix. We also looked at, and liked the idea of adding a center support for the rudder pedal tt assembly. Rudder pedal tt assemblies today are fabricated with a thicker wall on the outside tube. The original thickness rudder pedal tt assemblies are okay for normal use - however if you plan to use the aircraft for flight training, where the copilot (instructor) will be doing a lot of flying - or in some cases - trying to overcome rudder inputs from the left side (student) position, then a reinforced assembly is desired.

Subject: REFLECTOR: Toe Brake question
Hi,
Recently at the Columbia Canard fly-in we were discussing the toe brake kit. I was told that there has been
an issue of people having a twisting of the toe brake assembly. Has anyone heard of this?
It was explained to me that applying brakes or rudder on one side causes the center column to flex,
and that a center bracket or bushing could control this.
Someone mentioned that the factory knows of this and has a fix... Scott could you confirm?
I am just about to install the toe brakes and would like to know if there is an easy mod that
can be made.
Thanks,
Jack Prock
