REFLECTOR: bad Lyc

Alex,
I had to pull the engine to get #4 cyl off. The intake
valve seat came out!! Bent valve and the piston is
shot. Looks like my high oil burn was all from #4 but
I sent all cylinders in for a hone and new rings. I am
having a pissing match about the warranty with the
over hauler. 

I let him know of the oil burn at 8 hours and he said
to run it 25 hrs. The seat came out at 25.4 hrs. Now
we are having a nasty discussion about the warranty
and what should be covered. He sent the cylinders COD
and jammed me with a surprise bill that was nothing
like we negotiated. I luckily got my cylinders back
and stopped the check. 

Now its time to negotiate from a position of power.

The good news is that the engine continued to run and
all the metal stayed in #4 and the air box. 
I had just had a dynamic balance 3 hours earlier so I
lost that and I am sure I will have to re balance my
injectors.

What an interesting hobby.
