REFLECTOR: Nose cyl faulty construction

Hi,
If we are all in the together, I have something to contribute.

I am only now testing my gear. The nose retraction cyl leaked and so we
asked for and received a rebuild kit.

The rebuild was accomplished and it still leaked. I called the factory
again and learned only then of an 1/11/07 posting on the factory sight that
says the cylinder has to be opened up and the plunger placed back into the
assembly facing opposite from the way it comes to you. Obviously without
this bit of news I just built the damn thing as it came apart, and it is a
bear to get in and out of there.

They are clearly remiss for not using the reflector to announce this stuff.
Scott B took my suggestion that a copy of the bulletin stuffed into the
rebuild kits makes a lot of sence. This has cost me a lot of lost $time$.
For those of you who bought an RG kit in the last 2 years...save yourself
some time. Go the Velo site, builder's section, safety items, copy the nose
cyl info, and rip into your nose retraction cylinder now and fix it.

Lar,
Great. Let me get back to you. I'd ask for the half of the cost in round
figures since I doubt I could make a nite-by-nite motel out of the place.
Lots of issues to sort out before this becomes clearly do-able. Cost to you
would be about $1200.
Terry

Terry-
I am flying out with my brother and will be there Sun-Thurs. I might be
interested in "renting a couple of beds".
