Tom-

Did you recently upgrade the software to a newer version? It's an
unpublished OBTW from BM that with version X (2.64 and later on the G3,
don't know about EFIS ones) that you have to use an Ethernet hub rather than
a crossover cable. They had problems with the Ethernet chips and drivers in
the later hardware that I believe caused intermittent problems.

Or it could just be the AP controller, John and I went 6 rounds with them
on trying to get a working controller, but our problem was not comms b/t the
boxes rather the controller would drive the servos without the G3 even on.

I know there are some V-drivers with BMA EFIS systems ... So any ideas?

I tested my auto pilot exactly as the manual instructs. I also changed out
the Ethernet cable (yes, I used a crossover cable). I also checked to make
sure the AP disconnect pin was not grounded. In fact, I do not even use the
DB-15 encoder plug ... so the socket is dormant.

Still the AP disengages immediately.

I also checked my servos (with direct voltage) ... they work.

In my opinion, there are only two other possibilities: A bad AP controller
or the serial port on EFIS is not sending correct data.

What seems more likely?
