REFLECTOR: ram air vs filter

I find it interesting that putting on a K&N filter would lower the MP. 
Unless..... this is on a 540CI of about 300 HP. There was no mention of what engine 
was used where Tomcat got the MP drop (unless I missed it). 
 
When I sized mine for my 4.3L (262ci) 325 HP V-6 aluminum Chevy, I looked at 
Summit Racing. I found a cone retrofit for suped up 5.0L Mustangs that produce 
up to 400HP. That was the best guess I could figure. 
 
Then engine just went back on my V.. and I hope to do a "re-start" within the 
next week.
