Although I have not tried mine yet on my 173, I had mine redone by Matco. The
history is in the reflector, but the new guys did a great job on mine. At the
same time they upgraded my pads as well. If I recall right, they say the
combination of bigger pistons, larger cross-studs, anti-flex blocks and the new
pads improve braking by about 30%.

could figure out for myself was to send the brake calipers to Matco, they
will re-bore them to the larger 1.5" dia pistons for $200 this should give
about 17% more force on the pads at least-
