REFLECTOR: scales

It was me who wrote about the limitations. On the model I had, which was
the one originally suggested, here's how it worked: you put the weight on.
It calculates. It directs you to get off the scale. The answer is then
spoken and displayed and then it shuts off. You would need a person at each
scale w/ a note pad because they would all go off at once. Also I could not
get the scales to agree within 10% when sharing a load. They have digital
sensors on each corner and any unevenness in the floor will change readings.
Stretching a 2x4 across two scales and trying to get a 50 pound dead wgt to
read a sum of 50 was not possible. .but they have other models that would
work, so good luck. They were very nice and credited me back. It is a
scale making company.

Alex,
Do you have the model number and place where you purchased?
Thanks,
Joe

Subject: REFLECTOR: scales
I purchased one of those talking scales for the mass-challenged ( 440 lbs
capacity) as recommended last month here on the reflector- subsequently,
someone had mentioned that these scales will not work for aircraft W&B
because the weight must be removed before the scale will give a reading- I
went ahead and tried it anyway, and the one that I have will give the weight
both graphically and verbally without removing the weight- just to let you
all know that it seems like it will work..
