YEEEEEEHAW!!!!

It's not the engine work....it IS all the blasted wiring that goes with it. Geesh, I thought fiberglass work was messy 'til I got full blown into wire runs and connectors.

Again, Alex, Congrats. It put a big 'ol smile on my face.

All the best,

Chris

BTW, if you are "into" the Texas Hill Country, I just found a link to this new airpark being developed near Comfort Texas. I may get a chance to check it out when I am in central Texas in a couple of weeks for vacation http://www.comfortfalls.com/ . Just FYI

  Hey Chris-

I thought about you when I got it going- now there are at least 3 Texas based non-lycoming/continental-powered Velocities- counting you, me and Dave Bertram....

After countless hours of disassembly, checking, reassembly, fabricating more unique parts than I want to remember, and 2 round trips to Canada and one trip to England ( for the ECU) to be properly configured, my venerable turbocharged Subaru 3.3 liter flat 6 came to life today on the back of my XLRG

Ran it just long enough to wind up the turbo and discover some small oil leaks which will be fixed without trouble, but sure sounded nice- started on about the 3rd prop rotation the first time and immediately on the next 6 starts- now if I can just get that wiring done might just make it to SNF next year........ of course I pretty much say that every year.. J

    Alex
