REFLECTOR: Fuel Shut Off Valves

I've used the rubber hose + C-Clamp arrangement for a few times.  It was annoying enough that I installed one of those Aircraft Spruce manual valve arrangement right off main tanks so that I can isolate each tanks and sump separately.  For me, I've had to de-fuel the aircraft three times already and I will have to do this at least one more time to calibrate the EFIS against the fuel qty sender.

I figure the whole arrangement weighs less than 1lb and it allows me to shut off fuel from either (or both) mains very quickly.  Of course, the arrangement is not meant for in-flight operation.  In fact, the valves are behind the false bulkhead.  I do have a separate cockpit operable shutoff off the sump tank take-off line, though.

Good comment.  If for mantenance, use something that weighs nothing in
the air.

If for in-flight use ... well, make sure it works.
