REFLECTOR: Over Center Gas Strut

Mike,

Although it can be done, trying to replace the Gas
strut while it's under any compression is challenging.

I prefer take off the micro switch bracket, the bolt
that connects the over-center shock strut to the
over-center linkage (right under the micro switch
bracket), and then the bolt that holds the hydraulic
cylinder to the over-center bracket.

Now you can replace the gas strut easily. Once the new
strut is in, pushing down on the over-center bracket
until the hole lines up with the hydraulic cylinder so
you can put that bolt back is easy too.
