REFLECTOR: Gear-up landing

Mack,

Apparently pressure can build up on the low P side of
the system during flight, causing the low P pressure
switch to open even though the gear is up. I don't
know if this is typically caused by pressure bleeding
over from the high P side of the system or other
factors (temperature, pressure altitude).

I have a pressure gauge in my dash that's tied into
the high P side of the system and it can fluctuate
between 1,100 psi and 1,800 psi on long flight. My
high P pressure switch opens in at 1,100 psi.

I think the low P pressure switch opens in the 500 psi
range.

I believe your experience and mine are fairly common
which is why Velocity put the Reset function on the
gear switch panel. Without the Reset switch, you can
release the pressure using the dump valve.
