REFLECTOR: 28 volt instruments/avionics

I think 28V is a great idea.  Most (new) avionics don't care.
I think even new Ford cars are 28 volts these days ... or are they 
"about" to be?

It would be quite efficient, better than 90% to run a buck converter to 
power those things insisting on 12 volts.  If I were to build again I 
would seriously consider going 28volts.
