REFLECTOR: main gear brake lines

I agree with the stuff through the prop. I terminated the outer tubing
about 4 inches above the brake fitting. I treaded the nylaflow through
a section of 3/8th inch aluminum tubing that was flared on each end but
not attached to anything. My thought was: easy to remove, metal to
protect nylaflow from heat and rocks, large enough to allow air down
through it to cool it and easy to lift 1/2 inch to see and tighten the
fitting on the caliper. Has worked well for 4 years.

I also ran the nylaflow inside a tube but terminated the nylaflow at the
bottom
of the gear leg and used a braided line from there to the brake. Thought
about
stuff hitting it on the runway and the heat from the brake. No
problems 600 hours flying.
Oh Yeah! The stuff on the runway never hits the gear it is always
too busy going through
the MT prop.
