REFLECTOR: Reflector Digest, Vol 33, Issue 17

I think it depends on whether both mains hit at the same time, or just one first. I
had a hard landing with the left main hitting first. I couldn't find anything
damaged. However, 3 months later after a normal landing the left wing was about a
foot lower than the right and it seemed to float up and down a bit. An inspection
revealed that the right gear leg socket was pushed into the horizontal bulkhead about
an inch. So, perhaps the socket is the weak link when landing one main first.
Obviously if both mains hit together, all the force will be on the legs and pivot
bolts.
