People question using aluminum wire - even though this is copper coated
Piper use to use aluminum wire in the Cherokee line back when. The battery
was located under the back seat. While aluminum is a great conductor, the
outside of the wire would "corrode" and a film would develop on the outside of
the wire over time. This film however was a great isolator. The problem was
the corrosion film would also form under the crimped copper connectors on
each end of the wire and lower current transfer. There was a AD to replace
these wires in the Pipers. The coated aluminum should prevent this.
