Dave,
It would be interesting to see your arrangement. One reason is that I may
need to make some tweaks to my system to make it work right... one never knows.
I have 2 radiators, 1 on top fed through a NACA, and one underneath that is
also fed by a NACA. I also have a BIG heater core in the nose with a blower.
It acts like a boost cooler as well as cabin heat.
As you know there are a lot of methods, practices and theories when it comes
to cooling... truth be told, you never know til you try it.
There is a Flight Test Engineer here at my airpark, and he admits that the
best math, practices and theories are only a start. You really do have to fly
the thing to see how it really works.
I have some options if my cooling is not sufficient, and that includes lips
or scoops. I'd prefer not to do that if I don't need it... we shall see.
I appreciate your input and sharing your experiences here... There are
actually quite a few of us doing "alternate engine" installs.
I'd love to organize a fly-in (or a section at an already established
fly-in) for alternate engine powered Velocities.... once mine is in the air and the
bugs are worked out. One thing for sure... It sure will sound unique :)
Thanks again,
Kurt Winker
