I like mine. I preflight with it on and leave the doors closed. It is
only 103 degrees here. I have it in the plane now and will use it again
on my trip around the US in the morning.\

I jsut bought one of those "koolair" deivices you place on top of a
25quart
coolor.....it DOES blow cold air but its NO WHERE NEAR enough to even
make
the slightest difference. It costs around $40....but doesnt work
....Got to
look into something else!!!

For Hot summers in Louisiana I use the KoolerAire Igloo ice chest with
a fan that blows down into the frozen water bottles I place in it. I
cools the Velocity quite well and you have cold water when you want
it. I flew to San Diego last year and it worked quietly and well. I
placed it behind my seat and have it blow on my wife. Web site:

And another 20 to 30A if a condenser fan is needed and 10 to 20A for

evaporator blower. Another source of info and components is:

At HotRod Air, http://www.hotrodair.com/pg4a.cfm

they list the amperage requirement at 30 amps! That's for the

compressor clutch, right?

Anyone remember what the brand name of the portable air conditioner
was....or where to order one? I think it was made out of a standard
25quart cooler that runs off of 12v.

Thanks

she's too young to have logged on yet. Here's what I worry about. I
worry that 10 or 15 years from now, she will come to me and say 'Daddy,
where were you when they took freedom of the press away from the
Internet?'
