REFLECTOR: Aileron Rigging

The first item is that I was told to adjust the ailerons with about 1/8"
droop so that they would be in trail during flight. This is because the
control system has some give in it no matter what you do. Second, if your
right aileron is higher than the left, then you would have a heavy left
wing. I experience heavy left wing when flying solo because there is
nothing to counterbalance my 180# in the left seat. I don't think that the
ailerons have to be in trail but the solution is simply to set them up with
the appropriate droop on the ground. I would recommend that you carefully
consider the weight distribution in the cockpit before you resort to
re-rigging the plane.

John and I want some opinions on our aileron rigging. We have a “heavy”
right wing. When we keep the aircraft level both ailerons are 3/16” up from
“in-trail”. The right wing is up more. But on the ground they adjust to
in-trail with the stick centered. Any suggestions?
