250HP out of a light 4 cylinder....WOW! ....visions of scintillating
performance!
Heck, if props have trouble with the torque pulses from std 4 cylinder
Lycomings...how are they going to fair with 25%+ extra HP?
How's that new constant speed American prop going Rene? Others?

Hi,
The XP400 is a superb choice for Velo SEFG/RG model builders, here is part
of the details from superior:
http://www.xp-360.com/index.asp?content=15
About the XP-400 SRE Engine
XP-400 SRE Specifications
Model IO-400
Displacement 400 cubic inches
Compression 10:1
Prop. Drive Direct, AS127 Type 2 Modified
Prop. Type Constant-Speed
Weight 316 lb
Mount Type 1 or 2 Dynafocal, Conical
Horsepower 250 HP wtih 10:1
Dimensions 24.0" H x 34.3" W x 32.8" D
Note Only available with roller lifter technology
Superior's XP-400SRE Engine powered Scotty Germain's Unleashed Lancair 360
racer to over 258 mph at the 2006 Reno National Championship Air Races!
Unleash the racer in your airplane with Superior's race-proven XP-400SRE
Engine. Developed by Superior Racing Engineering, the 400 cubic inch
XP-400SRE delivers an amazing 250 horsepower. But there's more to the
XP-400SRE than brute power. Featuring all of Superior's industry-leading
components and technologies, it's an engine that will deliver reliable and
efficient performance whether you're racing or just flying around.
The XP-400SRE Engine features:
* High-performance racing pistons
* Specially designed racing camshaft
* Proprietary Electro Slag Remelt (ESR) crankshaft
* Angle-head Millennium CylindersT with bigger valves for better
breathing and better cooling
* Build your own XP-400SRE at Superior's XP-Engine Build Center
Now 250HP from a slightly larger 4 cyl engine (based on the IO360/XP360) is
a good alternative to a 6 cyl IO540, obviously less weight, and similar
power, this is going to be my engine of choice if Deltahawk has nothing
available when I need an engine.
Steve.
